The Broad (2018)


For the exhibition Jasper Johns: Something Resembling Truth, The Broad and The Library Foundation of Los Angeles’ ALOUD presented Unfolding Language, a literary series that explored the centrality of authors and poets to Jasper Johns’ creative practice by presenting two evenings of readings by contemporary authors. Hanif Abdurraqib, Brendan Constantine, Amy Gerstler, Rigoberto González, Douglas Kearney, and Chris Kraus responded the work of Frank O’Hara, Herman Melville, Ted Barrigan, Hart Crane, Samule Beckett, and Louis-Ferdinand Céline.
