On Soul of a Nation's opening day, The Broad presented a day of enriching conversations, artist talks and poetry, which featured Soul of a Nation artists Jae Jarrell, Wadsworth Jarrell, Gerald Williams, Mel Edwards, as well as gallerist Dale Davis; curators Thelma Golden, Naima Keith, and Isabelle Lutterodt; scholars Kellie Jones and Phyllis Jackson; poet Kamau Daáood; and Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay in conversation with Darren Walker, president of the Ford Foundation.
